It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend Scott Kent Williams on May 15th, 2025, at the age of 65. Scott passed away peacefully with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Scott was predeceased by parents Evelyn and Vernon (Bunny), sisters Patty and Darlene and brothers Vaughn and Blake.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; daughter Ashley (Cole) and son Evan; sister Sandra (Dave), mother of his children Sharon, sister-in-law Patty and life-long friend Donna as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Born and raised in Portage la Prairie, Scott held various positions throughout his working career starting that journey at Greenberg’s Groceteria then on to Farncombe’s Meat Market, McCain Foods and Simplot. After his retirement in 2019 Scott took on a part-time position at Portage Child and Family Services. His passions early on were going on camping trips with family and friends as well as going on adventures on his Harley Davidson. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with family, golfing and cruising in his 1968 Falcon.
Scott will always live on in our hearts.
As per Scott’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery, R.M. of Portage la Prairie, MB. All are welcome to attend.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Program, Dr. Finney and the staff of the Portage District General Hospital for their care and compassion.
