Sandra "Joanne" (Kulba) Lake

Sandra “Joanne” Lake ( nee Berard) passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 25th, 2926 at the age of 73.

Born on January 4,1953 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Joanne’s journey was marked with compassion, quiet strength, and a deep affection for those around her.

Joanne will be deeply missed by her daughter Kimberly, grandchildren Alex and Morgan, her brothers and sister, and in-laws along with their immediate families. She will also be missed by the many friends who felt more like family to her, people Joanne welcomed into her life with open arms.

Joanne was predeceased by her beloved son Cory, grandson Bradley, parents Arthur and Mary Berard, along with various siblings and loved ones who warmly welcomed her home.

Throughout the years, Joanne embraced opportunities that allowed her to build meaningful connections, both in her work and everyday moments. Whether she was waitressing, caregiving, or offering support wherever it was needed, her natural warmth made others feel welcomed and valued, and her gentle spirit touched countless lives.

Joanne cherished every moment spent with family and friends, especially when music was a part of it.  From proudly listening to “ her boys” jam, to singing along, strumming a guitar, or crafting her own lyrics, music filled her with joy and deepened her connection to the people around her.

Joanne will be remembered most for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering dedication to those she loved most, especially her nieces and nephews, whose lives she enriched with steadfast love and support. Her memory will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the same love she so generously shared with others.

Joanne and her family extend their deepest gratitude to Emily and Amara for their unwavering support, compassion, and kindness they offered over the years.  Their presence brought immeasurable comfort, and their care will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer. As plans come together, we will reach out to family and friends through text, email or messenger with details. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts as we prepare to honor a life that meant so much to us.
