Richard Telford Ducharme

It is with profound sadness that the Ducharme family announces the passing of their beloved brother, Richard (Rick) Ducharme, of Portage La Prairie.

Rick was the fifteenth child born to the late, Phillip and Aldea of St. Ambroise. It was there that he spent most of his youth and where he received his education. Rick learned to play guitar and sing at an early age. He followed this passion throughout his life. He was a skilled painter and was no stranger to hard work of any kind.

Through times of struggle, his siblings remained loyal and supportive. They always encouraged him. Rick loved all his children, grandchildren and all those he met in his incredible life. He was an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephews. His friendship will be remembered by those who loved him. Rick’s passion for hockey will be talked about fondly. He was very athletic throughout his life with some sports, cycling, walking and hard work of course.

In his later years, Richard spent his time pursuing the Lord through his gospel Music and by loving his brothers and sisters with a fierce loyalty, until illness took him from us.

He is predeceased by his son Jamie Foster, his parents Phillip and Aldea Ducharme, his brothers Edward, Wallace, Ralph, Freddie and Tony. His sisters Phyllis, Alma, Molly, Maryanne, and Anita. His special friend Alva. Left to cherish Richard's memory are his sisters Claire, Theresa and Cathy. His brothers, Alphonse and Ben. His children, Michelle, Sabrina, Meagan, Rick Jr. and Caleb. He will be forever missed by us and every kind dog that he loved so much.

The family will host a private gathering and internment at a later date.
