Pearl Larson Obituary

Pearl Larson (nee Paziuk), Nov.7 1925 - Jan. 6 2011

Proud wife of the late Melvin (Slim) Larson

Pearl was born Nov.7th, 1925 in Ethelbert, Manitoba to Steve and Victoria Paziuk. The eldest of 6 children, she was raised on a farm and then employed in Winnipeg until she met her husband Slim, whom she married in 1954.

With Slim being in the military service they were stationed in places all across Canada, as well as 4 years in Germany, before settling in Portage la Prairie. Pearl was an avid bowler and then joined Slim in playing horseshoes and cards. She also enjoyed many crafts, gardening, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very fun-loving, light-hearted individual who always had a smile on her face. She and her husband were the light of each other's lives.

Pearl was predeceased by her husband and brothers Sam and John.

She is survived by her children Joanne, Cathy (Greg), John (Shirley), and Donald; and her grandchildren Carrie-Anne Lander, Ashley Kulba, Chris Kulba, Sara Meffen, Joel Larson, Shayla Larson, and Rayden Asham (great-granddaughter). She is also survived by her brothers Mike (Thunder Bay) and Victor (Nanaimo), sister Helen (Thunder Bay), beloved aunt Marge (Toronto), and many nieces and nephews.

Pearl was a selfless, loving, caring, compassionate person who was always eager to help others even during her own time of illness. She will forever remain in the hearts of all those she left behind.

As per Pearl's wishes there will be no formal service. Cremation will take place and a private family interment will follow at a later date.

If friends so wish, donations can be made in support of pancreatic cancer research.
