Muriel Joyce Zelmer

Our cherished Mom/Granny was called home in the early hours of January 20th, 2023 to be with her Saviour Jesus Christ. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints” Psalm 116:15

Muriel was predeceased by her husband Glen and all her siblings. Left to mourn her loss are her daughters Patti (Jim) Evans, Robin (Ron) Hampton and Glenna (Kurt) Antonowitsch. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mom was born on November 10th, 1931 in Winnipeg to parents Thomas and Eleanor Kells. She was a very faithful member of Grace Chapel while she lived in St. Vital, and later on at St. James Gospel Chapel when she relocated to Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence. In her earlier years she supported Faith Bible Camp, volunteering in different capacities.
Muriel worked for many years for the City of Winnipeg until her retirement 30 years ago. She grew up during the depression years which helped to shape her ability to be financially responsible.

Muriel will be remembered as a loving mom and grandmother who enjoyed the times when her family got together. She appreciated a good laugh, even at her own expense. She will be greatly missed.

We are grateful for the caring staff at Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence where mom lived for 9 years, and the compassionate staff at Oakview Place who went above and beyond particularly in Mom’s final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Chapel, 19 Berrydale Ave, Winnipeg MB, on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Bible Camp, 760 Charleswood Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2R 1K6.
