Marilyn Chiponski Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marilyn Chiponski on January 18, 2025 at 81 years of age. Marilyn passed away peacefully into the arms of her saviour surrounded by family.

Her memory is cherished by her husband Bill Chiponski; daughter Sandy Chiponski (Shawn Carby); grandson Rhys; granddaughter Aisha; son Glenn Chiponski (Wendy); granddaughters Reighan Jones (Drew), Keely Leonhardt (Josh), Sadie; grandson Brye; brother Bob Fish (Louise); sister Carole Mc Fadden (Kevin); and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many dear friends.

Marilyn was born January 21, 1943 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. She was the second born of Harold and Ialeen Fish. Marilyn grew up in Portage la Prairie with her siblings Bob and Carol. Marilyn got married to Bill on July 24, 1965. They had a wonderful, long marriage together (Almost 60 years) and had two children together (Sandy & Glenn).

Marilyn loved to laugh. She will be remembered for her witty humour and one liners. Marilyn loved to work. She enjoyed every job that she ever had and shared fond memories of her work life. Even when she was at home she would keep busy. She kept her house clean and tidy. She was a fantastic knitter and crocheter and did many projects over her long life. She made afghans, hats, scarves, and little sweaters for her grandkids. Marilyn was a wonderful gardener. She is remembered by grandkids tending to her garden, shelling peas and picking out the perfect cucumbers for pickles. She was an excellent canner and made great pickles and relishes. Marilyn loved birds. Among her favorites were hummingbirds and jenny wrens.

Marilyn was a believer in Jesus. He was her Saviour and Lord. It gives family great peace to know that Marilyn is in heaven and free of earthly suffering and pain. Her favorite verse was this: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10
