John Lapawchuk Obituary
John, beloved husband of Eileen, passed away on January 28th, 2022. He is survived by his wife Eileen, sons Marshall and Derek, daughters Brenda and Celeste, grandsons Jordan and Jayce, granddaughters Hannah and Abigayle, sisters Olga and Christine, and his four-legged constant companion Jack.
His working career was diverse. He worked on steel in construction, was a Licensed Practical Nurse, farmed with his uncle, worked at Campbell Soup and Phillip’s Cable, construction and groundskeeping at Southport, Agriculture Canada, Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Association, and Manitoba Crop Diversification Corporation where he managed an Oriental Vegetable Project.
John was a rescuer of dogs including Paxi, Corkey, Lucy, Sam, Ben, Hope, Jack, and Susie Q.
The family gratefully decline cards or flowers. In lieu of cards or flowers, please make donations in memory of John to the Portage Animal Welfare Society, 121 12 St NE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 4A2. The work this charity does was important to John.
There will be no formal service.
