With Heavy Hearts and sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Jerome Edgar Belhumeur (aka Cisco) at his residence on February 12th, 2026 at the age of 62.
Jerome was predeceased by his parents Irene and Maurice, brothers Ronald (Mish), Claude (Poncho) and sisters Valerie Fiddler, Janet Lepine and Maurice Lepine.
Jerome is lovingly remembered by his sister Dorothy (Rob Stirton), niece Amanda (Everett) great nephew Callum), brothers Clarence Belhumeur, Wilfred Belhumeur, and Joseph Belhumeur (Sarah), their children Blake, Kailley, Carleigh), son Robbie (4 grandchildren) brother-in law Joe Fiddler ( nephew Stacey (Tanya), niece Roseanna), his uncle Rosaire (aka Roscoe) and aunt Elizabeth, and many special nieces and nephews, co- workers and lifelong friends.
Cisco was born in St. Lazare, Manitoba October 9th, 1963. He joined the railroad at a young age and continued to be employed with A&B Rail until his passing. He left St Lazare in the early 90’s and made Portage la Prairie his new home.
Cisco will be remembered as a man of many words. If he had something to say he would say it! No holding back! If he didn’t like something you were doing you would know it! he had no problem giving his opinion although sometimes it sounded harsh it was only meant out of love. Cisco will be remembered by many for his generosity and kindness. He was a very giving man, always making sure those close to him didn’t go without. Often when he was home on his days off, he could be found cooking up a big meal much to big for himself only to plate it up and deliver to friends and family. Cisco would make his phone calls on Sunday to his friends, co-workers and family which everyone will miss.
Cisco always talked about moving back to St Lazare. This was his retirement plan. He loved the community, the people and would quite often reminisce of “the good times” in St Lazare!
Although we already miss him dearly, we have comfort in knowing that one day we will meet again.
The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Lazare Catholic Church, with viewing 1 hour prior to the service. The burial will follow at the St. Lazare Cemetery, St. Lazare MB.
