Jean told us the origins of the 'half-way tree', 2 miles west of Bagot. She told how her Grandfather Archer had planted 2 trees when he lost his wife and baby in childbirth, which we were able to confirm from Vital Stats was in 1919. We live right beside that tree and had no idea who planted it. Thank you to Jean for sharing this beautiful story.

Jean was a part of many childhood memories I have of volunteering at the Lions Manor for my mom. She always had a smile and the residents truly loved her. Over the years whenever she saw me, she always had a smile and a hug for me. She truly was a great soul and will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. RIP Jean!!

The Archers have been a big part of our family for many years...most summers a trip to Portage was a must....meeting all the aunts, uncles and cousins. Jean was a big part of it and this friendship extended to many visits to Nipawin over the years. One of her last trips here to visit me she tried to teach our Rotary Club to line dance!! My condolences to the family..she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Our prayers are with you at this time of sorrow.

Thoughts and prayers to you. Over the years we would run into Jean and she always had time for a smile and a chat. We met more often while she and Bill lived at Dalton when my Dad was there. It is never easy losing a loved one but sharing of memories, family and friend time hopefully will help ease your sadness.
