Peacefully on December 1st, 2022, Janice Spinks of Portage la Prairie passed away in the Portage & District General Hospital.
Janice was predeceased by parents Lawrence & Isobel (Burns)Spinks. She is survived by her sister Linda (Bernie) Brecknell from Bagot and daughters Jennifer Boychuk (Darrel) from Winnipeg and Carolynn Brecknell (Mark Pallau) from B.C.
Janice was born in North Bay Ontario. Her father was in the Air Force which resulted in being posted in Saskatchewan and in Manitoba where she spent most of her life.
Janice graduated as an LPN in 1977 working at MDC and Lions Prairie Manor. She worked as a waitress and manager at Seagulls in the Westward Village Inn. Janice enjoyed people and being of service to others whether it be her family and friends or professionally. She was always caring and wanting to help others.
Janice was very creative expressing herself through gardening, decorating and baking. She enjoyed traveling, visiting her daughters in Ontario and B.C. Her highlight was her trip to England.
She loved animals especially her little dogs that she spoiled.
Janice had a gregarious personality and a very distinguishable laugh.
Special thanks to daughter Jennifer who lovingly cared for Janice in her final days and close friend Ed. Also, special thanks to the nursing staff from Palliative Care at the Portage & District General Hospital.

The Funeral Service for Janice Spinks will take place on Friday, December 9th, 2022 at 1:30 pm at the Highway Pentecostal Church, 1680 Saskatchewan Ave W, Portage la Prairie, MB. Burial will take place following the service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Portage la Prairie, MB.
