Suddenly on Saturday, October 19, 2024 James (Jim) Bernard Hawco passed away at 73 years of age.
Jim was born in Bell Island, Newfoundland in 1951 to Gus & Mary Hawco. He had five siblings; Jerry Hawco, Mary Hawco, Paula (Gord) Kent, Betty (Jerry) Lockie & Vince (Elizabeth) Hawco. Jim was predeceased by his parents, his sister Mary and his brother-in-law Gord.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 41 yrs (together for 50 years), Margaret, and children Mary Hawco, Mike (Samantha) Hawco and their children Gavin & Danika, and Roxanne (Calvin) Simmons and their children James (daughter Serenity) & Andrew. He also leaves sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law and nieces & nephews.
Jim always spoke his mind and never held back. He was well known in any community he lived in and was happiest with a house filled with friends and family for a good 'ol Newfie's jig. He was a great husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend and will be missed by many.
A Come & Go Celebration will take place on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, at the Lakeshore Apartments, 701 Crescent Rd. East.
