Howard Samuel Roehle

Howard Samuel Roehle was born on February 12, 1944 in Winnipeg, MB, to his parents, Sam & Florence Roehle. He passed away peacefully at Portage Hospital at the age of 78.

Howard grew up on the family farm on Blackdale Road in West St. Paul. He attended the local Irwinton School with his siblings; Joan, Fred, Bob & Rhoda. He completed his formal education at Stonewall Collegiate. Howard loved the farm and continued working alongside his parents.

On Oct 13, 1972, Howard married Karen Farough - his best friend and soulmate for 50 years.

Howard made a commitment to God in his youth. He trusted that God had influenced many of his choices in life, including moving to the Portage convention farm in 1999. Howard & Karen enjoyed many privileges in opening their hearts & homes to many of God's servants, family & friends.

Howard, with the help of his brother, Fred; and sons, Kendal & Kristina and Warren & Jax; grandson, Jacob; family members & long-time employees - Allan Johnston & Andrew Bennett – have contributed many years of labor to Kelroe Farms Ltd. It was rewarding for Howard to see the farm continue into the fourth generation. His semi-retirement years were spent caretaking the Portage farm and helping out where he could. It was satisfying to see Ken & Andrea make their home at Portage and to see Allen & Erika settle on their farm near Teulon.

Howard used his illness as an opportunity to spend more time with his family, his friends and, most importantly, his God.

Howard will be sadly missed by his wife, Karen; children Kendal (Kristina) Roehle & their children, Jacob, Eva & Hannah; Andrea (Ken) Walter & their children, Emily, Maya & Anya; Warren (Jacklyn) Roehle & their children, Landon, Nina, Bexton & Damon; Erika (Allen) Dalton & their children, Ella & Grace.

Howard is also survived by his siblings, Fred Roehle, Bob (Judy) Roehle & Rhoda (Bill) Whitehead, numerous nieces & nephews & many friends. He was predeceased by his father Sam in 1988, mother Florence in 2005, and sister Joan in 1993.

The Funeral Service for Howard will be held on Saturday, October 8th, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Roehle & Walter Farm, located at 64067 Simplot Road, 2.6 kms south of #1 Hwy. just west of Portage la Prairie, MB. Viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service. The family extend a warm welcome for all to attend. 

For those who were unable to attend the service, the opportunity to listen into the funeral for Howard Roehle was available by zoom. It was audio only at the time of the service.
