Helvig Irene (Andersen) Fecyk

Helvig Irene Fecyk (Andersen) “Nana,” as she loved to be called by her grandchildren, 69 of Oakville MB, passed away suddenly on May 31, 2018 in Portage General Hospital. She married Larry Fecyk on January 21st, 1967 and he survives.

Helvig was born in Copenhagen, Denmark March 31, 1949. Helvig came to Canada in 1957 and her family settled in Winnipeg, MB.

Helvig is preceded in death by her parents, Gunnar and Birtha Andersen.

Helvig is survived by her husband Larry; daughter Mary-Lou (Fecyk) & John Hughes; Son Gordon & DIL Bridgette; Son Jeffrey & fiancée Nadera; four grandchildren John Hughes Jr. & fiancée Kayla, Emily Hughes, Klarissa Johnson; and Quintin Fecyk. Two brothers Svend; David, and sister Bente, and great Aunt Karen.

A memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hearth & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Unit 3, 2430 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, MB R7B 0M5.
