Gerald "Roy" Dubois

IMMPORTANT UPDATE: THE DRIVE-IN SERVICE THAT WAS SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH AT 1:00 PM, AT THE GOLDEN PLAINS BAPTIST CHURCH HAS BEEN CANCELED. There will be a private family gathering followed by a private burial.

In the early morning hours of October 19th, 2021, Roy entered into the presence of his Lord and Saviour. Roy was predeceased by his father Roy Dubois in 1976, his mother Mary Dubois in 2019, his brother Norman, sisters Dawn, Rhona, Debra, Laurie, one sister Elaine in infancy, and niece Melissa Rose Dubois. Roy leaves to mourn his memory his wife Joanne, brothers Bernie, William, Richard, Rodger, and Sam, sisters Verona, Racheal (Buck), Pete Dubois – Roy’s Cat, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy was the oldest in a large family, whom he loved dearly and was dearly loved in return. Roy had many dear friends who will miss him dearly. Roy was a very kind and loving man. Throughout his trials in life, his relationship with the Lord was paramount in overcoming difficulties.

In recent years, Roy moved back to Portage la Prairie and became a member of the Golden Plains Baptist Church. The Church and Pastor Robert Carlson were a loving and guiding force in his life. His cousin Joan Lewis, also a Golden Plains parishioner, was a big part of his life and he enjoyed spending time with her.

Roy had many loves in his life but his greatest love was Jesus and his walk with Christ which was a true testimony to others. Roy loved sharing with all he met the love of the Lord Jesus.

We as a family pray that his life and memory will continue to aid all of his family and friends until it’s time for us to make our journey home.

The Viewing for Roy Dubois will take place on Thursday, October 28th, at Ronald Moffit Memorial Services, 306 Saskatchewan Ave. E. Portage la Prairie, MB, from 3:00pm – 8:00pm. There will be a guestbook for signing. Covid guidelines will be in place.

The Drive-in Funeral Service scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021, at the Golden Plains Baptist Church, 1201 Tupper St. N. Portage la Prairie, MB, has been canceled. There will be a private family gathering and burial.
