Frank James Vivier

“Wolf with good voice”

It is with deep sorrow that after a courageous battle that we announce the loss of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and great friend Frank James Vivier at the age of 57.  Dad passed away on Sept 20, 2021 at his residence with family by his side.

He will forever be loved and missed by his children Kayla Flett (Floyd) and Ian Vivier, grandchildren Hailey and Caitlyn Vivier-Flett. Sisters, Tracey Vivier (Gregg), and Jackie “Chic” Vivier, as well as many numerous relatives and friends. Special friend Judith and although not blood, dad had important others in his life he called his brothers and sisters, he will deeply be missed by Leaha and Tony Tacan, Brenda and Kelly Smoke, and Ingrid Olson.

Dad was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Feb 7th 1964 son of Aileen May Vivier (nee Lilley) and Lloyd Henry Vivier.  Dad lived in many places from Dauphin, Reedy Creek, St. Rose, Kinnesoda, Edmonton, and Portage la Prairie. Dad was a very well-known man; you could always hear him before you would see him. Dad loved to tell jokes, you never knew what to believe or what was going to come out of his mouth. Even at his last days we were laughing and joking. Dad enjoyed many things, his grandchildren, hockey, football, bike riding, walking and telling stories. Dad spent most of his days caring for his grandbabies, taking them on adventures, pick up and drop offs at school, talking to his friends and family on facebook, listening to music and enjoying his cigarettes. Family was always important to dad. He raised his children to always put family first. Respect your elders, always say please and thank you. Dad married Joyce Hay (nee Nicholls) in March of 1987. They had two children Kayla 87’ and Ian 89’.  Although divorced dad found comfort in knowing mom was here with us, we were all here as a family fighting his battle to the end, together again.

Dad fought hard to stay with us, but it was time for him to be with our creator.  Dad passed away loved, respected, and honored. Dad was reunited with his Mother Aileen May Vivier, father Lloyd Henry Vivier, brothers, George “Bobby” Vivier, Lloyd “Trapper” Vivier.

My Father’s Love

My fathers love never places judgment on me,

his love comes unconditional and unselfishly.

For all the things you’ve done to show how much you care,

Never lets me forget that you will always be there.

I’ll ever forget the love you have showed in so many ways,

Faithful to me as a father you’ve never missed a day.

The way you look at me with a twinkle in your eye,

no matter my situation, if I’m laughing or if I cry.

You have taught me the difference between right & wrong,

And as I became a woman, you taught me to be strong.

I’ll always be grateful for you being there,

Through my struggles and my strife,

Because of your encouragement, you’ve taught me the meaning of life.

In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you day by day,

 our hearts were almost broken you fought so hard to stay;

But when we saw you sleeping so peaceful, free from pain,

we could not wish you back to suffer that again.
