After a long struggle with Parkinson's, at the Lion's Prairie Manor, Elvin
Klippenstein, 81, of Portage la Prairie, went to be with his Lord on Friday, April
24th, 2020.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 14 years, Barb, his children
Darren (Gail), Jamie (Pat), Dawn (Galen), Kevin, and their mother, Doris. He was
a proud Grandpa to Joel, Marc (Kayla), Jordan (Alaura), Taylor, and Morgen; and
Great Grandpa to Charlie, Ada, and Arthur. Elvin will also be remembered by
Barb's daughters, Cindy (Ken: Emily, Joel, Talitha), Jennifer (Gary), and Krista
(Dave: Joshua, Caleb). He is survived by 6 of his siblings; Harry, Harvey, Lorna,
Verna, Brian, and Gerald.
Elvin was predeceased by his father Abram, mother Sara, and sister Esther.
A graveside family service will take place at the Beaver Creek Cemetery in the
RM of North Norfolk. A memorial service in Elvin's honour will be held at a later
date for family and friends to gather and share their memories.
In the recent days since Dad's passing, through the many calls and texts,
I have been reminded of Dad's kindness, willingness to help anyone in need, his
generosity (dropping of gifts on their doorstep!) and always taking time for
everyone he meets.
In Dad's final days, his greatest concern was for his Grandson, Joel Liss,
who is battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire,
donations in memory of Elvin can be made to Joel Liss at GoFundMe.com.
"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you
have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and
steadfast. (1 Peter 5:10)
