Dorothy Elaine Green finished her earthy course on the evening of Sunday May 13, 2018, with family by her side, at JB Wood Continuing Care, Dementia Ward, in High Prairie, AB. She was 81 years of age. Dorothy was the dear wife of Al Green. They happily shared 58 years of marriage together.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Al Green, beloved daughter and best friend, Janice and her husband David Adams, who all reside in rural Valleyview / High Prairie, AB. area. She is also survived by; her cherished grandson Nicholas, his fiancé Jaci and Zara their daughter of Salt Spring Island, B.C., and his son Gideon, of Red Deer, AB., her dearest granddaughter Ashley, partner Quincy of Victoria B.C., her adored grandson Anthony, his wife Lindsay and their two boys Smith and Reed of Calgary AB. Dorothy is survived by her beloved siblings, brothers Louis, Merle, Rex, Joey, and Michael, also sisters, Yvonne and Delores. As well as, many nephews and nieces she deeply care for. Throughout her life, Dorothy loved all her family no matter how far away they lived. They were always close to her in her thoughts and in her heart. Last but not least, she is survived by her beloved dog, Rufus, who for many years loyally stayed by her side.
Dorothy was born in Portage La Prairie, MB., she was the third child of the late Delina and Phil Gladue and spent her childhood in the Overhill District. Dorothy was known through out her life as reliable, diligent and hard working.
Ever since childhood she had a deep love for God. Dorothy was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1969 and continued faithful until her recent passing.
Viewing will take place on Friday, May 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 at Ronald Moffit Memorial Service 306 Saskatchewan Avenue E. Portage la Prairie. Prayer and interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Section 4, Hillside Cemetery. Family and Friends are welcome to share their favorite memories and stories of Dorothy at a Celebration of Life that will be held at the Herman Prior Centre, 40 Royal Road N., Portage la Prairie from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
