Diana Jane Melcosky, born on January 18, 1947, in Dauphin, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, at the age of 77. She lived in Thompson, Sperling, and most recently resided in Haywood, Manitoba. She is survived by her loving husband, Tom, who she adored, her son Jeff and her daughter in law Jen, and her grandchildren, Liam and Keyanna. Diana was a loving and devoted grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She cherished her role as a grandmother and always created lasting memories with them.
Known for her sewing skills, Diana could often be found crafting beautiful creations with her needle and thread. She was passionate about creating and never let a button go to waste.
Diana was particularly fond of her favourite foods, perogies and cabbage rolls. She took pleasure in savouring and making these delicious dishes.
Diana enjoyed watching her beloved TV shows, such as "The Antique Road Show" and "Jeopardy". She was always eager to expand her knowledge and engage in these educational programs. Throughout her life, Diana admired figure skating and enthusiastically followed then sport. She appreciated the beauty and grace displayed by the skaters, and she never missed watching it on TV.
Another favourite pastime for Diana was visiting the casino. She found excitement and entertainment in playing the one-armed bandits and enjoying the lively atmosphere and always chatted with fellow customers.
Professionally, Diana pursued a career in nursing. She dedicated herself to caring for others and positively impacting their lives. Her compassionate nature and commitment to her profession were widely recognized and appreciated by those who she worked with.
Diana Jane Melcosky will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered. May she rest in peace.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
