On August 17th 2022, Darryl Blaine Henry passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Portage General Hospital.

Darryl leaves to mourn his wife Moira, children Chandler (Chantel), Hailey (Ethan), Ashley (Ryan) and Melora (Jeff), grandchildren Jett, Kai, Olivia, Easton, Ella, Riley, Rowan and Kase, sister Shona and several nieces and nephews and their children.
Darryl was born in Rivers MB on July 11th 1959, but spent most of his life in Portage la Prairie. Darryl was a naturally gifted athlete who played sports throughout his lifetime. We all know his prowess in hockey and fastball in his younger years that led to travelling and lifelong friendships. He enjoyed playing golf in various tournaments with his buddies and had the best of times on his Florida golf trips.
What many don’t know is that Darryl was an avid history buff and liked to read and loved cooking his mom’s recipes for his family. Darryl worked in various occupations but being kitchen manager fit his personality best as he was both grouchy coworker and trusted friend to his Boston Pizza family.
Darryl was a straight shooter who had no problem telling you what he thought, but under that tough exterior he had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. Darryl did everything on his own terms and always said he lived a life with no regrets.
In the words of one of his favorite songs, “It’s been a beautiful life”.
