Her grandchildren; Evan Ducharme, Kristen (Manny) Allard, Justin (Richard & Vance) Ducharme, Jordan (Kirstie) Allard, Katlyn (Kyle) Ducharme, Kassidy (Nathan) Allard, AJ (Taylor) Allard and Noah Allard. Her great grandchildren; Asha-Lilly Allard, Alexis Medeiros, Manuel Pimentel, Parker Allard, Wrenlee Allard and Emilia McDonald. Along with her siblings, brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cathy was predeceased by the love of her life Emile Allard. Her parents; James and Delima Lavallee and her in-laws; Ben and Margaret Allard.

Cathy was born and raised in the Métis community of St. Ambroise, Manitoba. She came from a large family of 21 children. Cathy played a huge role in raising her siblings and was a great help to her mom. In doing so, she learned to cook and bake those homemade goodies we all loved so much. She met the love of her life Emile in 1971, and the rest was history. They welcomed their oldest daughter Deanna in March of 1973, their son Tony in March of 1974 and their youngest daughter Shelley in September of 1976. They welcomed their first grandchild in 1992 and were given the title “Memere” and “Pepere” – they were blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren to follow. In June of 2011, they welcomed their first great-grandchild and currently have a total of six great-grandchildren, and another on the way.

Cathy’s family was her pride and joy, and she felt this to be her truest blessing. She looked forward to all the holidays, where she spent time cooking large meals and making lasting memories with them. Christmas was Memere’s favourite holiday to celebrate, decorating her home beautifully and spreading cheer amongst the community with her tasty dainty trays during those Holiday months.

Cooking was always a passion of hers and she mastered the art of it. In her earlier years, she was a cook at the Southport Airforce base from 1994 to 2004. She also cooked at a local waterfowl hunting lodge in the fall months for over 40 years. If you paid her a visit at home, you could be sure to find her in the kitchen cooking or baking something delicious. A true Métis woman, she enjoyed berry picking as both a hobby and a means to make a living, with her personal record one season being 300 gallons. She was well known for her homemade bread, Bannock and fried bread, which were often enjoyed with a warm pot of homemade soup.

Memere was an avid Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Bluejays Fan. She enjoyed watching and cheering alongside her family. Her family will miss how passionate she was when watching the Jets – she was not afraid to let the Refs know how she felt about the calls or lack thereof.

The family would like to thank the staff on the MICU ward at the Health Science Centre for the quality of care they offered to our Mom and Memere.

She will be missed deeply and fondly remembered by many.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4th, 2025, at the St Ambroise Roman Catholic Church, St. Ambroise MB. Both Emile and Cathy will be laid to rest in the Church Cemetery following the service.
