Carole Mae Plachner

Carole Plachner passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Portage and District General Hospital at he age of 81 years.

Carole was an outgoing, caring woman who loved Jesus. She was passionate about bringing the good news to anyone who would hear her. She had a magnetic smile and personality that made people feel they mattered.

Carole was born in Port la Tour, Nova Scotia to parents Warren and Ursula Perry on April 8, 1937.  She was saved at the age of 17 and continued to live her life for the Lord.

Carole married Ed Plachner on September 1, 1965 and he immediately whisked her away first to Montreal, PQ and then Winnipeg, MB in 1966.  In 1976 they laid down family roots in Portage la Prairie, MB where they raised their two daughters.

Carole was a devoted stay at home mom who spent her free time volunteering with the MCC store, her home church, Douglas Campbell Lodge and LaVerendrye School.  She was always willing to be the hands and feet of her Saviour.

Carole is predeceased by her sisters Rose (1997) and Helen (2018) as well as her parents Warren & Ursula Perry.  She leaves behind to mourn her devoted husband of 53 years Ed, daughters Sharla (Peter, Ashley and Derek), Sandra (TJ, Hayden and Maiya), along with many nieces and one nephew.

Her thoughtfulness, kindness and sense of humour will be greatly missed.
