Bounkham Wong

Peacefully, on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at 4:44 a.m. Bounkham Wong passed away with his loving wife Yong by his side at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 79 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Yong, sons Phonsay (Sirimath), Saksay (Joy), Somboun, Kitti, and daughter Davivan, grandchildren Chris, Justin and Selinya, as well as numerous relatives and friends in Laos, France and Canada.

Boun was born in Vientiane, Laos and immigrated to Canada in 1980, sponsored by the Bagot Community Church. He worked as a farm labourer for Kroeker and Almasippi Farms until his retirement in 2010.

Boun’s love of the outdoors afforded him many enjoyable hours fishing, hunting and gardening. His passion for Chinese and Lao music was evident in him singing karaoke whenever the opportunity arose. He will be greatly missed by many.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family.
