It is with heavy hearts that the Ducharme family announces the passing of Anita Ducharme.
Anita Ducharme passed away peacefully on October 21st, 2018 at the age of 78. At the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
She is predeceased by her Mother and Father, her husband Leo Ducharme, her sons Clark and Randy, two infant daughters and daughter Linda. Her sisters Molly, Alma, Phylis and Maryanne. Her brothers Ralph, Wally, Edward, brothers-in-law Bobby, JC and Carl. Sister-in-law Leatrice and her grandson Peter Olive.
She leaves to mourn her memory, her children Marilyn (Les), Leo Jr. (Cindy) and Rod (Shelley). Her grandchildren Nicole, Claire, Robyn, Stephen, Jessica, Noah, Maurice, Christopher, DC, EJ, Theresa (Craig), Matthew, and Robert and Shaun Olive. Great grandchildren Jaylah, Brontxon and Matthew Jr. Her siblings, Claire (Arny), Theresa, Cathy, Tony (Wilda), Alphonse (Patsy), Ben (Donna), Richard and Freddie. Countless nieces and nephews as well as the entire community of St. Ambroise.
Anita was born to a family of 16 children in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on December 17th, 1939. She was raised and lived her life in St. Ambroise. She married the love of her life Leo Ducharme in 1956. Anita and Leo took on many adventures and trades in their 55 years together such as hauling scrap, landscaping, hunting and ice fishing. Together they ran the Green Head lodge on the Delta March.
When Leo became ill, Anita dedicated her life to taking care of her husband in the latter 10 years of his life. Anita was a very devoted faithful Catholic and a was a pillar for the Catholic church in St. Ambroise. In 2011, she fulfilled her life long dream to have mass with the pope at the Vatican with Marilyn and Nicole.
Anita became ill in 2016 with kidney disease and underwent dialysis treatments until her passing. Because of her illness, her special granddaughter Claire moved in with her and they took care of each other every day.
