Alfred Robert Cardinal

Peacefully on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Portage General Hospital, Alfred Cardinal, beloved husband of Doreen passed away at the age of 72 years.

Alfred was born in Portage la Prairie, on April 14, 1946, son of the late Robert and Dorothea Cardinal.

Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife of 27 years, Doreen; Children Harley Cody and Leah; step children Dennis Desjardins (Barb), Shirley Panko (David), Sandra Osborne (Gerry).  Also brothers and sisters; Carolyn Hogarth (Colin), Judy Kirchner (Ken), Elaine Davidson (Shaun), Bob Cardinal (Brenda), Simone Cardinal, Yvonne Cardinal, Leon Cardinal, and Maurice Cardinal, grandchildren; Robert Nash, Dennis Nash (Brittany), Nicole Irving (Jason), Courtney Meeham (Sean), Stephanie Osborne and Bill Desjardins (Jill).  Also six great-grandchildren, brothers-in-laws Bill Desjardins and Ed Desjardins.

A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, at Hillside Cemetery.  Friends are invited to meet at Herman Prior Centre, 40 Royal Road N., Portage la Prairie leaving from there at 2:00 p.m.  A reception will follow the interment at Herman Prior Centre.

The family wish to thank the staff on Medical Ward at the Portage Hospital for their excellent care for Alfred.
