Muriel Webb Obituary

Muriel Elizabeth Webb (nee Ronald) passed into the presence of her Lord on November 18th, at 80 years of age.

She was born on May 30th, 1938 on the family farm near Esk, Saskatchewan to Russell and Tressey (nee Bilow) Ronald. When she was eight, she received Christ as her personal Saviour, and remained dedicated to His service for the rest of her life.

She moved to Winnipeg to study nursing at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg when she was 18. There, she met James Webb, the man she would later marry. She loved working as a registered nurse in the operating room in Brandon where they made their home. Once they started their family, she used many of the skills learned as a child on the farm to manage her home while her husband spent time away preaching.

She enjoyed sewing and, as a mother, and later, a grandmother, she spent hours creating outfits for her family. She also sewed and knitted many items to send to Zambia.

Aside from her love for the Lord and dedication to missions, two more passions can be traced throughout her life: music and books, both loves inherited from her father. Russell  taught all his children the basics of reading music and singing, and she, in turn, taught her family to sing around the piano, where they spent many Sunday afternoons! Just like her father, she was a voracious reader and interested in learning other languages. She especially focused on Spanish.

Muriel  was predeceased by her parents, and two siblings, Ross and Marjorie (Robert Kennedy, deceased). She will be fondly remembered by her loving husband James of Manitoba and her four daughters: Colleen (Cyril Smith) of Saskatchewan, Daphne (David Oshust) of Manitoba, Barbara (Paul Thiessen) of Mexico, and Alison (Arvind Sharma) of Ontario, as well as her grandchildren: Jennifer Smith, Kimberly (Tyson Taylor), Erika (Ricky Sawatzky), Brittany (Klaus Matis), Joel Thiessen (Amanda), Jordan Oshust, Nicolas Thiessen, and Konrad Sharma. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren whom she loved spending time with: Olivia, Boaz and Walker Taylor, and Gabriel Thiessen. She will also be missed by her siblings: Murray (Ellana) of British Columbia, Harvey (Eunice) of British Columbia, Wilbert (Sharon) of Manitoba, Carol (Robert Brand, deceased) of Manitoba and Phyllis (Douglas Trick) of British Columbia, her sister-in-law, Edith (Gerald Webb, deceased) of Manitoba, as well as her nieces, nephews and many friends too numerous to list, but not forgotten.

Viewing will take place one hour prior to the funeral service.

A funeral service in Muriel's memory will be held at River Road Gospel Hall, 350 River Road, Portage la Prairie, MB on Saturday, November 24th at 11:00 a.m. with refreshments immediately following. Interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
