It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Rene Gilles Boudreau at the age of 79 years.
Gilles was born on September 2, 1939 in Quebec City, Quebec to Edmond and Janette Boudreau (nee Rochette). Gilles grew up in a large family of 12 brothers and sisters. In 1956 Gilles joined the Royal Canadian Airforce and was first posted to Winnipeg.
He met and married his wife Susan Mohan (1940 – 2017) in 1961. After several postings in Canada and overseas, Gilles retired from the Airforce on 1978.
Following retirement he worked at various jobs. Finally he was employed by Décor Cabinets of Morden, MB
Gilles enjoyed an active life, participating in many sports and following all of them. He was a life-long Montreal Canadiens fan. Gilles was also very active in the Army, Navy and Air force Veteran’s Association, Unit #13 for many years.
Predeceased by his wife Susan and son Raymond, Gilles is survived by his daughter Jocelyne (Wade), son Robert (Valerie), granddaughters Tara and Kerynda, brother; Rejean; sisters, Monique and Ginette. He was predeceased by brothers Jean-Claude, Jean Ives, Raymond, Denis and Gaeten and sisters; Celine and Huguette.
Gilles will be remembered as a fun loving fellow with a mischievous smile. Funeral mass celebrated by Rev. Father Gerald Langevin will be held on Friday, September 28, at 1:30 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1125 Saskatchewan Avenue East, Portage la Prairie. a reception will follow in the A.N.& A.F Hall 23 Third Street N. E., Portage la Prairie.
