After a brief hospital stay Arthur passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, the One he loved and for whom he lived his life. If you’d met Art he considered you a friend and would never have forgotten the circumstances of your meeting. His countless acts of kindness and generosity attest to his large loving heart inside his gruff exterior. His memory was incredible and his repertoire of life stories was both limitless and detailed. Art’s thorough knowledge of computers formed the backbone of his working career from his beginnings as one of IBM’s first programmers in the 1960’s, to his own successful software development firm, and finally his business in computer hardware solutions and repairs. In between, his entrepreneurial spirit took him custom combining and managing a large feedlot. Art enjoyed visiting family and friends throughout Canada and the US as well as several European countries. He was always up for a coffee or celebratory dinner out. Art loved and was loved by a large extended family. His absence leaves a hole in our lives already. He was predeceased by his parents Brian and Nellie Cavenagh and twin brother Allan. Art leaves behind his brother David with his daughters Jennifer, Tannis, Jaqueline and Stephanie. Grateful thanks to his many care providers. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 7th at 2:00pm at Charleswood Community Church 760 Charleswood Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Bible Camp 760 Charleswood Road Wpg MB R3R 1K6 or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba Unit 3 2430 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, MB R7B 0M5.
