On Sunday, March 24, 2024, Bertha May White (née McFarlane) passed away peacefully with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at her side. She left this world at her home in St. Claude, MB, at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with cancer. Peacefully on March 19th, 2024 at the age of 98, Flora “Doreen” Dow passed away at West Park Manor in Winnipeg. Doreen was born on July 23rd, 1925 to Charles and Kathleen Fraser of Oakland, Manitoba. Peacefully on March 9th, 2024, Garry Laverne Thurston passed away at the age of 83, at the Lions Prairie Manor with family by his side. Garry was born in Portage la Prairie, MB on March 20th, 1940. He grew up in Macdonald, MB and went to school there as well. After Garry finished school, he worked at Smith Motors in Portage until he left for Red Lake, ON. to work in the mines. Marianne Jean Abbors (nee Connon) was born July 8, 1941 at 5:45 am in St. Boniface Hospital. That plump little dark-haired girl, weighing 5 lbs. 11 oz, peacefully left this life on March 6, 2024 in Portage General Hospital at 82 years.
